How to Hang New Nonwoven Wallcovering

INSTRUCTIONS

You have purchased a very user friendly wallcovering. The material is a nonwoven fabric. It is easy to hang and simple to remove. Please read and follow these instructions. Apply the product to a clean, properly prepared, primed and painted wall for best hanging and removal performance. It may be hung directly over wallpaper. DO NOT USE ‘VINYL-OVER-VINYL’ ADHESIVE. The prepaste on this product is specially formulated for optimum performance during hanging and removal. The use of prepaste activator or light weight strippable paste, while not required or recommended, generally does not alter product performance. Inspect all spools for consistent pattern, color and run #.

How To Hang

  1. When hanging the border without a ceiling line or chair rail as horizontal reference, use a level to draw a reference line.
  2. Re-roll each spool starting at the end to be hung last, pattern side IN. Roll loosely so that the water can wet the entire prepasted surface.
  3. Fill water trough 2/3 full of clean room temperature water.
  4. Working with one spool at a time, immerse the spool in the water trough ensuring the entire prepasted surface is wet. Do not immerse spool for more than 15-20 seconds.
  5. Remove the spool from the water (unrolling it as you pull) and fold, accordion style (paste side to paste side), as necessary for handling purposes. It is not necessary or recommended to allow the border to “book” for any longer time than is necessary to transport the spool directly to the wall for hanging.
  6. Unfold the first portion of the border and align the edge with your horizontal reference. Unfold the rest of the border and align.
  7. Use a wallpaper smoother or sponge to ensure proper adhesion of the border.
  8. Clean excess paste from surface, before it dries, with a sponge and clean water.
  9. When hanging successive borders, overlap the end of the border already on the wall with the beginning of the new border lining up the designs one on top of the other. Using a straight edge and razor knife, double cut through both pieces. Discard the small end pieces from each strip, butt the ends together and smooth flat to complete the seam.
  10. Hang succeeding borders by repeating steps 4 through 9.

How To Clean

The surface of the product may be cleaned using a soft sponge with mild soap in warm water. How To Remove When hung as recommended, this product may easily be removed from the wall without the use of special tools or chemicals. Simply lift the end of each border at a seam until the first 4” of the border is off of the wall. Grab the border and pull along the wall to remove. Once removed, use a soft sponge and clean warm water to remove paste from the wall.
